Unrecognizable mum after eye treatment reaction leaves son terrified of his face

A mum has spent £800 on therapy to tackle her ‘droopy’ eyelids and dark circles only to have it backfire and leave her teenage son scared to look at her.
Mariana Janse, 40, purchased plasma fibroblast therapy which is a high-frequency electrical current zapped through the skin to promote tissue regeneration.
The Northampton mum had the beauty treatment as an early birthday treat on Wednesday March 23 in hopes of ‘taking a few years off’ without resorting to plastic surgery.
In a video she shared on social media after the treatment, Mariana’s face was extremely swollen.
She said, “Oh my God, it’s day two, and look at the swelling under my eyes.

“I look terrible! Hope I get better soon.”
The marketing consultant also shared photos of her healing process to warn people that it’s not a “quick fix”.
Mariana said: “I have really droopy eyelids on top and they literally hang over my eyelashes and I can see it – so it’s not just looking at it, it literally bothers me for my vision.
“I also have excess skin and dark circles under my eyes, so I was hoping this would help firm up the skin a bit because it’s hard to put on makeup because there’s so much skin.”

She added: “I knew what I expected, but it was still a shock to wake up and realize ‘I have to go to parents’ night and face my child’s teachers who look like this’ .
“The teachers asked me if I had an allergic reaction and I said, ‘No, I’m just trying to look younger.'”
Most of Mariana’s family found it amusing, but she says her 13-year-old son seemed to be discovering a phobia.
The sight of the burnt spots around his mother’s eyes kept the teenager from being in the same room as her for several days, including Mother’s Day.

Mariana said: “My family thought it was really funny but my son must be scared of the holes or something because he literally couldn’t even look at me or be in the same room as me.”
The mum now has to wait three months to see the full results of the procedure, but she says she can already see a difference under her eyes now that the swelling has started to subside.
Mariana said: “The swelling is all but gone and I look pretty much like I did before my treatment – just waiting to see the results but my eyes have already lifted up a bit.
“I don’t believe you should have to age gracefully. If you want to do something to make yourself feel better, then do it.”
