Two eye surgery centers join Quigley Eye Specialsts

Quigley Eye Specialists, a Southwest Florida leader in the diagnosis and treatment of vision disorders, announced that the St. Lucy’s Eye Surgery Center and Community Eye Center have merged with Quigley Eye Specialists.

The St. Lucia Eye Surgery Center and Community Eye Center are owned and operated by ophthalmologists Joseph W. Spadafora, DO, and Eric R. Schaible. MARYLAND

Dr Spadafora is the Medical Director of the Community Eye Center and has over 30 years of experience in ophthalmology. He has researched ocular anti-inflammatory agents, glaucoma, medications, ocular antibiotic agents, and laser-guided cataract extraction at the St. Lucy’s Eye Surgery Center. He was also an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of South Florida, Tampa.

Dr. Schaible is the Director of Ocular Research at the Community Eye Center and specializes in complex cataract surgery, trauma, premium lens implants, and the treatment of astigmatism. With 24 years of experience, Dr. Schaible has written extensively on neurosurgery and ophthalmology, including corneal surgery and optic neuropathy. He has also conducted research on laser cataract surgery.

Community Eye Center joins 16 other sites owned by Quigley Eye Specialists in Lee, Collier and Charlotte counties.

Community Eye Center, which has provided quality eye care for 40 years, will continue to provide care from its offices located at 21275 Olean Blvd. at Port Charlotte, 1331 S. Sumter Blvd. in North Port and 1988 S. Tamiami Trail in Venice. No operational changes are expected due to the merger.

In addition to the three Community Eye locations, patients can also be seen at any Quigley Eye Specialists office: 2135 Tamiami Trail and 20600 Veterans Blvd. in Port Charlotte and 2529 Tamiami Trail in Punta Gorda.

The offices of Quigley Eye Specialists in Lee County are located at 15640 New Hampshire Court in Fort Myers; 2277 First Street in downtown Fort Myers; 6091, boul. South Pointe in Fort Myers; 112 Del Prado North in Cape Coral; and 5220 Lee Blvd. at Lehigh Acres. Dr. Stephen Prendiville’s facial plastic surgery office at 9407 Cypress Lake Drive is also part of Quigley Eye Specialists.

In addition, Quigley Eye Specialists recently opened the Q iLasik & Med Spa in Naples and this summer acquired the Naples and Fort Myers sites from Assuage Luxury Spa.
