The best moisturizer duo is Kiehl’s Avocado Mask & Eye Treatment
A few weeks ago I woke up and randomly decided it was Avocado Sunday. Looking at the number of products in my beauty cabinet with the moisturizing ingredient, I figured the time wasn’t like now for a double dose of the green goodness. And when it came to my skin, I immediately took the Kiehl’s Hydrating Nourishing Mask with Avocado and Creamy eye contour treatment with avocado.

Fresh out of the shower I applied Aunt Jackie’s NOT YOUR AVERAGE CURL Protein Mask with Bamboo and Avocado to my hair (you can read more about that here). While I waited for the mask to take effect on my curls, I got to work applying the Kiehl’s mask to my face. As you can see in the photo above, things can get a bit tricky during this step. Pro tip: After taking a good amount of the mask in your hands, work it between your fingers until it is smooth and creamy, then apply a thick layer later on your face. Because the mask is formulated with avocado oil and evening primrose oil, it easily transforms to a somewhat thick texture in the jar (thanks to the concentrated avocado extract from the fruit pulp) into a creamy paste when emulsified in your hands.

Fifteen minutes is enough for a softer and softer skin. According to Kiehl’s, in a short time, skin hydration is improved by 29%. After an hour, a study showed that the skin barrier had improved by 24%. This is because the outer layer of our skin is made up of lipids, and avocado is rich in the compound, especially essential fatty acids, so that you not only nourish the skin, but also make it stronger.

I let both of my masks sit for about 30 minutes before rinsing off and moving on to the next steps. For my skin, this meant applying my standards: Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum and Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil before moving on to the Creamy Eye Treatment. Dark circles run in my family so I do everything I can to prevent / keep them away for as long as possible. Although puffiness, dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles are somewhat inevitable with age, these “problems” also tend to appear as a result of dehydration. This is what makes Kieh’s eye treatment so essential.

As the name suggests, the eye treatment is literally the creamiest eye product I’ve found, thanks to avocado oil, beta-carotene, and shea butter everyone’s favorite. black girls. These ingredients combine to improve the look and feel of texture under the eyes by deflating, moisturizing and even brightening. This last bonus is my favorite part of the cream which has been clinically shown to deflate by 32% and clear up by 11%. It also protects the eye area from digital fatigue caused by the blue lights of our laptops and phones, and it’s suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin, so you really can’t go wrong.

Because the formula is so rich and thick, I tend to use it at night or on days I go without makeup (which is most days nowadays). With the palm of my ring finger, I apply the treatment under my eye and around my orbital bone, which can get extremely dry if you neglect it, and instantly my whole face glows. After applying Cantu Avocado Moisturizing Gel (more details here) for my hair, I was good to go and officially declared avocado a thing.
