Qatar, Inuwa Foundations Bankroll Eye Surgery, distributes medicated glasses to 486 in Jigawa
As many as 486 people with cataracts received free eye surgery, as well as medication and eyeglasses, in Jigawa State.
The project, sponsored by the Qatar Foundation in collaboration with the Malam Inuwa Foundation, took place at Gumel General Hospital.
At least 200 people out of the total of 486 received free glasses.
Then, about 286 people received free medicine after a medical examination detected their eye defects.
Some of the patients expressed their happiness and gratitude for the free eye service, while talking to PRNigeria.
The Mallam Inuwa Foundation, which was started and sponsored by Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA has also offered free eye treatments to many visually impaired people in the state of Jigawa.
The medical outreach sponsored by the Inuwa Foundation is in collaboration with the Qatar Charity Foundation.
The eye treatment/care service in the selected hospitals is supervised by ophthalmological medical experts with visits from the Qatar Charitable Foundation Board of Trustees to the outreach center.
