Mrs. Chinenye Nwaku, President of the Sight Club, said the club embarked on this eye surgery to help indigent Nigerians suffering from eye cataracts to correct their sight. The main thing, she said, was to help fight blindness in the country.
On how they select patients for treatment, she said they make announcements through their platforms, and those who have indicated regardless of tribe or religion are identified, thereafter doctors are asked to protect the eyes; from there, the treatment begins.
On how they find funds to carry out this grassroots project, she pointed out that when swearing in new leadership, they usually appeal to the public for support, even if members contribute money. to finance some of the grassroots projects undertaken.
