Help support Alyissia’s eye surgery.
My name is Alyissia C. I am not a person to ask for help, but people I need your help! I am an extremely hard working mom and attend online college. Unfortunately, my private insurance does not cover the service I need and I have to pay a fee. Please let me tell you my story. I wear glasses daily. One day I noticed that my vision was blurry in both eyes plus in my left eye. I rubbed my eyes and blinked my eyes several times in the hope that it would reduce my problems. However, in vain, it did not help. Nevertheless, I continue to carry out my daily chores for my family. Honestly, I procrastinated for days, weeks and even a few months to go to the eye doctor. I was scared and yet worried about the unknown of what could go wrong with my eyes. I finally called and made an appointment for an eye exam. I cry while writing this. I was told I had a rare eye disease called keratoconus and needed to see an eye doctor for corneal surgery in both eyes. Both eyes!! I can only do one eye at a time and would need to take time off from work and take care of my children while I recover. This visual impairment dilemma is fixable at a price I can’t afford. I hope anyone can help be a financial blessing and donate for my operation. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. More importantly, being an online student becomes a huge challenge as I strive to maintain my status in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. I ask you to keep me in your prayers as I embark on this unexpected journey alone. I will continue to give updates on any progress. Thank you all.
