Ira Perszyk has been licensed in Florida since July 2019. The Florida Department of Health administrative complaint states that on November 22, 2019, a 91-year-old man identified as “VP” came to Perszyk for selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT), a laser surgery usually used to treat glaucoma.

“[Perszyk] documented intention to perform SLT on the left eye, ”the complaint states. “The RN prepared the left eye with a drop of 0.5% Altacaine and performed a timeout. [Perszyk] performed the SLT on the right eye.

The complaint did not describe any other problems with VP’s eyes.
