Eye surgery a breeze, thanks to caring staff – South Coast Herald

[ad_1]

I am writing this letter to express immense gratitude to the staff at Murchison District Hospital.

My 79 year old mother has suffered from eye cataracts for several years.

Unable to afford surgery through a private hospital, she had to travel from the Free State to the South Coast to find a solution.

After a few visits to the Gamalakhe Clinic in March, she was referred to Murchison and placed on a waiting list.

I was afraid we would make it, but was later informed that there were a large number of other patients who also needed surgery due to the Covid pandemic.

Unfortunately, we missed a surgery opportunity in June.

However, the staff were extremely accommodating and placed her on the August ops list.

His operation was successfully completed on August 12 and the procedure was quick and efficient.

The staff were extremely helpful and patient and we returned home the same day.

My mother has heart failure and I was filled with apprehension.

She was treated with the utmost care and is recovering well.

I would like to thank the staff and doctors at Murchison Eye Clinic for their help and kindness and the optometrist for this wonderful experience.
